For my documentary so far, I have most of my pictures and articles that I would like to use. I have one interview completed. I would like to get two more interviews, one of a competitive dancer and the other another judge/ dance teacher. I also have a video of me and a group of dancers performing which I would like to include in my documentary. I have learned that many people think of my community as a negative. Since I have been in this community for over 17 years, it is a little difficult to hear the many negatives about the community. I think that since I have been on the inside of the community, I never realized how it looks on the outside. It has been very challenging finding peer reviewed articles that back up my problem as well as just articles in general. I have really enjoyed figuring out what questions to use for my interviews and I really enjoyed interviewing and seeing other people’s points of view. I think the hardest part about this documentary is trying to make sure everything is included in the amount of time required. I also think that making sure the questions I ask are not bias or based off my opinion of competitive dance is very challenging as well. I look forward to incorporating everything in to my project.
