I am Courtney Carey and I am from Gastonia, North Carolina, a small town outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts. I come from a very small, honest, open, Catholic family. We share everything with each other. Family is very important to me as well as friends. I have been a competitive dancer for 17 years. Dance has and will always be a very important part of my life. I have won many national titles and also plan to open a studio for underprivileged children after I graduate from college. I do plan to become a pediatrician and work out of my own office as well. I love my family more than anything. I have a little Maltese named Kami. I have one younger sister named Caleigh who is 16 years old. Public speaking and writing have always been a struggle for me. I hope that by the end of this semester I am able to speak confidently in front of my class and also I hope I will be able to write better papers and blogs by the end of the semester. I identify most with the dance community. I have been around dance my whole life and I know the ins and outs.
